I bought this seat for travel and my husband insists the plane seat belt doesn't fit or reach all the way through where you need to secure the carseat (he wouldn't let me try so I'm not really sure what the problem is) but there must be someway to use this seat on the plane. can anyone help.

TIA

No one has yet had a problem, perhaps the seatbelt was stuck at an exceptionally short length? It's common procedure to ask for a seatbelt extender to solve carseat install problems on planes, though, so just ask the flight attendant for one if it's truly necessary. (But I really don't see how it could be, the forward facing belt path is right there at the back of the seat, equivalent to buckling an extremely skinny person...like, Flat Stanley, really, so it should just slip right in there and buckle up, no problems)

I think I know what the problem is...

You need to open up both sides of the velcro flaps (that you normally open to fold the seat). That way you will have easy access to routing the airplane's seatbelt through the beltpath.

The airplane's seatbelt gets buckled in the middle of the beltpath, just like it gets buckled in the middle of your tummy when *you* buckle yourself up. You will need to use the open velcro flaps to get your hands into the middle of the beltpath to buckle the lapbelt.

After that, pull on the tail to tighten. The Radian really is the easiest install ever for forward facing on an airplane. I'm guessing he was just confused because of the buckle being in the beltpath and there is nothing wrong with that. :)

Thank you CDNTech for your clear explanation. My 2-year old and I are flying this weekend. She rides in a Radian and I wasn't sure how I would be able to buckle and unbuckle the airplane belt until I found your post.
