infant seat base interchange?

Will a Chicco infant seat fit a Graco base? I have one grndchild in a Graco I one in a Chicco.

No, I'm sorry. I know it would make things easier on everyone who transports other people's children/grandchildren, but every manufacturer designs their seats differently, so the fit from seat to base is individual. A Chicco seat will not fit onto a Graco base, or vice-versa.

It's possible to install most infant seats without the base, however, so you could review the owner's manual of those seats to learn how to install them that way. Otherwise, you'll have to purchase a base.

Thanks for this helpful forum. What about a 3-year old snugride base and a new (2 months) snugride seat? Do all snugride bases fit all snugride seats - keeping the expiration date in mind, of course?

I am hoping a tech chimes in but I was told that the bases will fit all seats. Like the older base will fit a newer seat. I don't think it would fit the SS1 though. As long as it is a regular snugride it should work just fine. I just used my base, 2.5 years old ish, with a new snugride and it was a perfect fit and just fine.
Now hopefully I didn't do wrong. LOL. A tech will tell you soon

Yes, a 3 yr old Snugride base will be fine with a new Snugride. They have been the same now for about 6ish years.

ETA: It will not fit a Safeseat 1. Just the Snugrides!
