My friend has asked for help choosing a convertible car seat for her 9 1/2mo. Since I'm really not that up to par on convertibles much these days I'd like some opinions on a good seat for him.

Here's what we have to work with:
She want's to RF to at least 2yo, maybe longer.
She want's something under $300.
He is 9 1/2mo.
He weighs 19lbs.
She will get his height tomorrow (he's sleeping now).
He's just now starting to wear size 12 months but they are still a tad big.
He's on the 2nd slot of his SR30.
She drives a 2010 Subaru Legacy.

Thanks for the help!:)

What about the new NextFit? Supposed to be super easy to install.....

And of course my all time favorite is the TF ;)

It just seems like all the new covertibles have issues. It's depressing. I'm thinking of a Classic MA or RA50 for Griffin. At least you know what you're getting.

I was totally thinking about recommending a Classic MA because it was my all time most favorite seat in the whole world. lol.

I'm still super uncomfortable with the classic britax ffing. Kid seems small-to-average. It's hard to recommend seats without knowing what features she values, but I'd look at the Nextfit, TrueFit SI, Pria no TinyFit, Size4Me etc., and the new Marathon and Boulevard G3.
