Graco ComfortSport, broken foam....throw away??

New member
I pulled the ComfortSport out of granny's car recently, and discovered that the foam was broken on BOTH sides. We've reglued it several times, but it always breaks again. Now I'm wondering, is gluing a safe option? Do I need to destroy the seat? Will Graco replace a seat? Anyone have experience with this?

The top slot even with the shoulders rule applies to this seat, doesn't it?

You need to call Graco, tell them the foam broke, tell them you've been gluing it and see what they say. They might send you new foam.

About the slots...if the child is rearfacing, the harness must be at or below the shoulders. If the child is forward facing, the harness must be at or above the shoulder. If you're talking about outgrowing the seat, if the chid's shoulders are above the top slots, they've outgrown it.

This happened to ours. We called Graco and they sold us replacement foam for $10 plus $5 shipping. Turns out the foam was defective in those seats for a while and many on this board got theirs replaced for free. I was upset that we had to pay for ours. I would call Graco and try to get the foam for free. If they try to charge you for it I'd just toss the seat since it's outgrown so quickly.
