Question Graco affix loose latch

We just got a graco affix backless for our oldest dd. I just called graco because the latch on one side doesn't lock. It loosens like the button is pushed but it's not. The cs rep told me it's supposed to do that. Anybody know of that's correct? And why is it made like that? When my dd climbs in and out of the seat, it loosens and makes it a little crooked.

I'm not sure if they're SUPPOSED to be like that, but it seems that they all are. It's not something that concerns me. It's just there to keep the seat from being a projectile, and I can't see that it would make a difference in a crash.
