Good day.

My cousin called me and asked to borrow my GNs so she could harness her older two on a long trip from pa to Ohio.

So I set them up and brought them over and we talked for a long time. We installed on with LATCH. And one with seat belt because that child is 55 lbs. both fit in harness fine and were in the rear of her can which did not have tether anchor back there. I explained to her that the GN still performs well with out it and explained about her seat belts and how to get a good install on the seats.
Her dh installed them and I just reinstalled them and tightened the belt install.

She wants to get some new seats and asked me to help her get some good deals.

She was so happy to learn about LATCH wt limits and proper usage and why the law is just minimum and not the best we can do for the kids.

Anyway. It was a great morning. :)

If she had latch in one of the seating positions then she has to have a tether for that spot.

ETA: And all vehicles that have latch have to have at least two sets of latch. I know you said the older child was too heavy for the latch anchors but there would be a tether for that position as well.

Way to go! Ditto what they said though. LATCH Is Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children so the system must be used with both lower anchors and top tether.
