Foonf, take #2

What I actually said was that I already understood that some folks would object and I knew their objections and personally did not agree so it was a moot point in this particular case. I understand now that this is a group that feels the legitimate need to reply with rose objections again because of their professional roles.

I actually have a thread like that and I think we have had some interesting talking happen I there. I mistakenly thought this what a tiny side thought and seriously didn't mean for it derail this thread.

Speeding of that can we just stop right here? I get it ok. I clearly am cut from a different cloth than many of you and my conversational posting style rubs many of you the wrong way. While I'm not suddenly going to become something different and easier to swallow, I will strive to remember to whom I'm talking to in future post.

And since we can assume I'm not an mind worth trying to change on this particular, non life or death, subject; let's all agree we have better things to talk about.
You just don't get it here. It isn't anything about whether you know or don't know the risks. Other people that read the thread may be hearing about the risks for the very first time because you brought it up.

Nobody thought YOU really needed to know this information. We all say your other thread, which was a great discussion, and we know you know. But it still had to be said, just in case.

Furthermore, the post that set you off didn't even address the safety of your idea. It just wondered it it was worth buying such an expensive seat when you would need to modify it right out of the box.

Your original post of the idea wasn't controversial, your rage and comment about being on hidden camera was. You had a legitimate idea. Someone else had a legitimate question regarding your thought process. There was nothing about the question that was ludicrous enough that the only reasonable explanation was that we were having you on.

We don't want an apology for coming up with an idea. There's no need for one. An apology for your snarky remarks, or even an admittance to them other than saying some *might* have come from you would go a long way in this situation though.

I don't assume you are a mind not worth changing. I don't even think your mind needs changing for questioning the party line. I like it when people question and think critically. Just...think about how you will handle people taking the opposite point of view and keep it civil.

Take it from someone who has stuck her foot in her mouth more than once and has had to reevaluate and regroup, you need to take a breath and then think
" if I've upset so many in such a short period of time- maybe its me".

You are right fighting. You don't want to concede that you've said some things that have insulted an incredible group of people.
They don't get paid, they often repeat the same information over and over and have to endure a barrage of panic posts from parents.

Nobody here is trying to do anything other than help you make your child as safe as possible in the car.
Yes you can make whatever you want. You can use it with pride and no one is going to come to your house and snatch it from you and berate you in your house.

But you came into this house. This place people come for information to keep kids safe. This place where more than a few members have been in horrific car wrecks and their children were safe because they were restrained correctly. This place were we see accident after accident were children die because they weren't.

There is a passion here because we aren't talking about crafting or sewing or cuteness but a device meant to give a child the best chance possible to survive something that kills kids way too often. Accidents.

Take a breath. Realize that you are coming across badly and just regroup and apologize.

Take it from me. These amazing people are pretty forgiving and care more about your child being safe than a few snotty posts.

This place is an amazing resource. I'd hate to see you lose that.

auto correct hates me

adorkable, with regards to car seat aftermarket products, the thing is unless it has been tested and we know it's safe, we as techs (and car seat employees etc) can't officially suggest using it. if we do, and something happens, we are liable.
><snip><
so if you ask car seat folks about aftermarket products, the official stance will always be - DON'T USE THEM.
this has now been explained over and over and acknowledged by me multiple times too, can we please drop it and let this thread get back to what it was meant to do, update us on the very cool 2nd version of the foonf about to go into production?

or a moderator might consider closing this thread since it has gotten so derailed, it is not really fair to Judi and Vera. had i know what was going to happen, i would have never posted here.

I got lost in the thread. So I do t know how much has already been said. But to help get the thread back on topic...... I saw the 2nd version of Foonf at Kidz In Motion. The one without lockoffs. I'm awaiting the 3rd version that will have different lockoffs. So.... We've now seen them change the prototype several times, yes? So this this next info with the same grain of sand. It was mentioned at KIM that the retrofit kit might cost about $100. Don't stone me or Clek if that price changes. There will also be 2 black covers. One is Drift and another is maybe Shadow? But the non-Drift will be crypton.

can you explain the changes in lock offs, i dont know a lot about lock offs, having really only used latch systems up till now.

in general, im finding it hard to want to buy this fist model, i usally avoid first model years of most things, so much gets learned when they have it used my thousands of folks in real day to day situations that the next years model is bound to have some rally big improvements. but i also have 20m twins that are in BB seats that will expire this fall and that we are not hugs fans of anyway

i do like that they seem to be hard at work doing what tweeks they can do before they hit the stores, that has given me confidence

Fortunately, Clek has already learned alot about this seat and is making the changes. Most companies release their seat, THEN let people see it and give feedback to make changes for a Gen2. Clek has already been listening to feedback and making changes.

I don't know what the new lockoffs will be like. Foonf had lockoffs. Then Vera wanted no lockoffs, so they made a seat with no lockoffs (the current prototype). She lost that battle for a reason I forget, so there will be lockoffs but they will be different from those on the original prototype.

Was it an Oobr maybe? I saw an Oobr just last week in a car. I was definitely surprised.

Imagine being able to lift the cover back along the rf beltpath of a Radian. Unclip the cover, peel it back slowly, and voila, the holy grail of car seat deliciousness. An open belt path. Have goosebumps yet? Now imagine lockoffs staring up at you, all strong and humble.

That little bit of joy is what I felt when I met Foonf and it's lockoffs. It was like coming home. Please Clek, let there be lockoffs on Foonf. Nothing is more cathartic for me than standing overtop of a rf seat, threading the seatbelt, buckling, pulling tight, and *clamping* the mofo tight.

The Crypton Superfabrics are NOT used by vehicle manufacturers. The fabrics are used by hospitals as mattress covers to prevent disease transmission by being completely moisture resistant, anti-bacterial and stain resistant.

I will post some very, very exciting updates to Foonf as soon as we are ready to release the info! It will be within the next week or two... We appreciate your patience! You will see it here FIRST!

~Vera at Clek
I think both of those statements are awesome! Can't wait!

LoL imagine the Old Spice commercial guy saying that. Clek should hire him for a Foonf advertisement.
