I was wondering your thoughts on the Evenflo Amp booster? It is not expensive, looks nice and it is narrow (which I need narrow). Anyone have any thoughts on this?
TIA

It's what my 4yr8mon old rides in at the moment. I think it's just not often recommended because, unlike the Turbo booster by Graco, it doesn't almost always have a good fit for kids. Also it has a shorter belt guide, about 19" I think, so it may be outgrown sooner than desired for larger, young children.

However, my oldest is 44-45", and just shy of 50lbs and has gotten a good fit on it in every vehicle he's been in with it. Lap belt nice and low on his hips, touching his thighs and shoulder belt centered well.

It also doesn't require headrest support behind it.

The AMP is a wonderful, safe booster, provided it fits your child correctly. I would suggest going to Toys R Us or BuyBuyBaby and testing one out in your vehicle with the child in it and making sure that it fits properly.

When checking booster fit, look for:
*The lap belt sitting low on their hips, touching the thighs
*The shoulder belt is mid-shoulder, in contact with the clavicle
*The chid's bum is all the way back in the seat and their legs bend comfortably over the edge of the booster
*The back of the booster seat is in contact with the vehicle seat and the base of the booster seat is in full contact with the vehicle seat, no overhang
*The shoulder belt retracts freely though the belt guides

It's ok. It is pretty flimsy, but I expected that for the price and his other seat is a probooster (not flimsy at all). My biggest problem with it is the high back won't stay in place. It drops back down to the lowest spot. I contacted evenflo and they offered to SELL me a new one (no thanks). There is a spring that comes loose in the back. I have to take the seat back apart and repair it, not good advice there. I posted about the issue here a while back. I do really like it as a backless, though.

I've never had mine have trouble staying up. Truth be told, it will stay in place between clicks. So it may have been a manufacturing defect for a run or something. Who knows.

I have the Big Kid Sport which is basically the same seat with a cheaper cover. I like it and it's worked everywhere I've tried it.

high back or no back? I tried them last week. The HBB was too short for my DD and the LBB had the shoulder belt too far off the shoulder. :( Also, I noticed the HBB had less padding than the LBB, but the LBB had nice cozy padding and she liked the cool cup holders and fun colors. I was very disappointed because we need some narrow options and I thought we'd found it. However, if your kid is shorter, it may work for you.
