I have a Keyfit 30 that was purchased in 2007. Today when I went to put the cover back on I realized that the entire piece of foam had come unglued from the seat.
When I called Chicco they told me it was a "safety concern" (only after confirming that the seat was no longer under warantee).
But the more I think about it the more I wonder - how are 2 splotches of glue supposed to hold the foam on? Why is their glue better than if I just tape it on? Why do some manufactuers sell replacement foam if this is truly a safety concern? And why do I own another seat that never had EPS foam and that is NOT a problem?
Obviously, I will not do anything against their recommendation, my child's safety is more important, but I do wonder if they are not just trying to get me to buy a replacement (the customer service rep said that would be the probable outcome).
