What kind of seat installs well on one of THESE vehicle seats? I've never installed a car seat on a vehicle seat like this. It looks like a nightmare! Any tips? Know any car seats (either rear, or forward) that can install on a seat like that?

I dunno, but it looks perfect to keep the lapbelt low on the lap of an adult (who of course is too big to fit back there, lol).

infant seat w/o base MAYBE?

What vehicle is that?

I don't think that would even fit to be honest! The child that needs the seat is 17 months, so either forward, or rear-facing (though I can't imagine you'd fit a rear-facing seat in there). It's a Mazda RX7 2 door "sports car".

ETA: Here's another picture:

I'd be curious to try a Radian since the curve of the vehicle seat looks similar to the curve of the Radian. Is it the pic or does the seat belt really come across the middle of the seat instead of at the back/hip area? If it is as forward of the bite as it looks, it really will be a nightmare for a forward facing seat.

Yes the seatbelt, seatbelt buckle really does come across the middle of the seat, rather then from the bight/behind your shoulder etc.

Something with a base... Marathon or EFTA maybe?

ARGH Of course, none of which we have in my country *cries* lol

We had a car like this come through our first check. The woman had an IO with base back there with about fifty towels in the scooped out seats under the base. The techs on that car had better luck installing it without the base... it just didn't fit! For some reason (not sure why) she was sent home with a Touriva... NO idea how they were planning on getting that in there. Even our instructor said "there's no way she's getting that seat in there tight enough."

What's an IO?

Ok, call me weird, but my Signo has a tall square base on it that would probably fit quite tightly in that hole.

IF you could get in in the back. Its a big seat.

I think she meant AO - Cosco Alpha Omega. One of the 3-in-1 seats.

Either that or "Infant Only"...

I meant "Infant only"

Does no one else use that abbreviation? It's on the check form so I assumed it was commonly known.
