Poor kid.

He kept coughing (like one of those "got a tickle in the back of the throat" coughs) on the way home from church tonight. Right as we pulled thru an intersection, he vomited. He hasn't done that (in his car seat) since he was a little guy. Poor thing- he HATES throwing up and I could tell he was trying to stop. We pulled over (we were heading to IHOP anyway) and got him out and cleaned up. The seat, however . So, thank goodness I bought a Maestro for DH's car- he took the van home and came back to pick us up.

On the way home, I kept checking on DS. He calls it "burp" so I asked if he needed to burp again. He said he wanted to burp at home. As soon as we pulled into the driveway, I hopped out, unbuckled him and he said he wanted to burp inside- in the potty. So, we got to the 1st bathroom we came to and he sure did burp...a lot. :(

Thankfully, I've seen threads here about how to clean the harness straps. I will say that I hope the stinking seat is easy to put back together. He nuked the bottom pad good- it's in the delicate cycle as we speak. I was able to spot clean the pad on the backrest. I used a little baking soda and water on the harness straps & crotch strap and spot-cleaned them. I'm hoping it's nice out tomorrow so I can hang them outside for a bit. I just want that smell to be gone. Does what I did sound ok?

Ugh. I hate it for him but I also hate it for the new seat. I hope this is an isolated thing and he doesn't have a bug. He's supposed to go to Grammy and Grampy's this weekend!! :D

Same thing happened with my younger DD's new Froniter 85. We haven't even had it a week, and she's been in the car maybe 3 times since? She has the croup :(

That happened to us, just 4 days into Emmy using the Monterey last week.....driving 75 mph down the freeway, she says her tummy hurts, but she doesn't need to throw up....2 seconds later, she blows. Thankfully she had her jacket in her lap, which caught most of the mess, but those darn skjp mesh hold every ounce of yuck that they catch!
