Or does it just go from harness to HBB?

What other options besides the Nautilus is there for a seat that is a harness, HBB and LBB?

The child in question is off the charts for height and weight (he is 2 but size of a 3-3 1/2 yr old).

Backless boosters are $20 when needed down the road. I would buy the combination seat that best meets his needs, and for big kids, that's usually a Frontier.

Yeah, they just really wanted one that did all 3 but I can tell them at his size, they are better going with the Frontier. He is in a Nautilus in my car and already on the 3rd slots.

The Nautilus NBB is so bulky and tall anyway. I much prefer a youth booster for $13 over it. He would outgrow all the other seats' HBB mode around the time he outgrew the Frontier's harness.

The Harmony Defender does as well, and we love it. The FR90 is her main seat and we bought the Defender as a back up seat, but honestly would have no issue with it as a primary seat.

Having used the Nautilus in all three modes I did not like the LBB, Its HUGE and I found that it sat funny in the vehicle, Ds always looked like his knees were higher than his bum (no the recline was not engaged).

Yeah the Nautilus as a backless is annyoingly gigantic. I would just get a backless down the road. It'll be easier to transport and easier to fit people next to.

I love my nautilus as a backless for my bigger child.

I love this seat. For all it does it fits kids well and it lasts a good long time.

I have 2 top of the chart for height kids and I had to replace our Nautis with Frontiers. DD1 loves her FR85 in HBB mode so much she doesn't want to ride in anything else. I'd explain to them that LBBs are a long ways off and cheap and they should get a seat that will fit him well for the next 4-6 years instead of worrying about that now.
