Does the 1 inch applies to canadian infant seats?

Well, the title says it all. I have a graco snugride that says "up to 29 inches". My daughter hasn't reached that yet, but I'm wondering if the manual gives that limit because it's a canadian seat? Is the one inch rule only for american seats?

Generally the Graco seats will indicate that a seat is outgrown when the weight limit is reached, the height limit (29"), or there is 1" of hard shell remaining above the head (measured like this), whichever comes first. There can be oodles of room above the head but if the standing height limit is reached first it doesn't matter, seat is outgrown and time for a new one.

Are you at that point yet, or soon? Do you need suggestions for an infant/child seat?

Thanks! And I'm glad you mentionned "whichever comes first" I was unaware of that part.
DD is 5 months and 25 inches. I think I still have a few months, then we will ERF in a diono (we're doing 3 across, this was the easiest fit)
