Does over/under shoulder heigh matter on an airplane?

I asked a question earlier about using the CARES harness, and I'm still deciding, but one problem that I realized when we flew last time is that when we FF my daughter in her Scenera on the plane, the harness is below her shoulders. When she RF in the car, this isn't a problem, but it's at the highest it can go. Is there the same sort of restrictions when flying since generally you aren't worried about impact as much as turbulence? Thank you!

Technically the straps do need to be at or above the shoulders in order for the seat to be used properly. I've heard other people say that forces on an airplane are different enough than forces in a car crash that harness height doesn't matter, but I don't know of any evidence to support that claim. Personally if it were me and the straps were reeeeally close, then I would probably go for it. Otherwise I'd use it RF or get a different travel seat.
