Does anyone else dislike non-handed latch connectors?

Now I'm still confused. I can see the difference in where the belt tightens at though. Is that what makes the difference?

Yes. when they are handed the strap forms a straight shot from the car seat to the latch anchor. with non-handed, it has a turn in it. I think it makes a huge difference in this particular seat (in the ody). wondering if it matters for any other seats?

I don't know, I frequently have a heck of a time tightening LATCH straps which makes me prefer seatbelt installs :p. This includes my TF, Scenera, FR85. I haven't yet tried to install my Sureride with LATCH because it was in our '92 Explorer. I played with it in my van, but seatbelt was quicker for me to flip it between RFing and FFing.

I could not get a good install with latch on my fr85s. I definitely prefer seatbelts for those. I don't know if those are handed or not and I probably have to remove them to look and I'm not about to go out there and do that in this weather lol. With long belt path I get a great install with them.

I doubt the FR85 is handed, since it's FFing only. But I don't know and it's too cold to go look, lol. It's in my car with LBP and my vehicle seat back fully upright to get back the inch of harness height I lose otherwise. Not that I need that inch yet.

I guess the Coccoro is non handed. I think it's part of why I can't get a good install with latch. Seatbelt either but that's neither here nor there. It's very confusing. I had to look at it 3 times and I'm still not sure I have it right. I think the Pro Sport is non handed too. I also had issues with that one.

Now I have to go back and see which is causing the problem for the OP.:)

Okay, so which seats have handed connectors. That's what I want in the future!

The CCO is the seat I was complaining about. It was my first introduction to non handed LATCH. That seat gets no love at my house. I need to sell it and pay close attention in the future to avoid those awkward connectors.

Just for reference:

Non-handed connector (On a ProSport)

Handed connector (on a True Fit)
Right?

I'm about 99.99997% sure my CCO LATCH connectors were handed then, actually. They never seemed any different than the Pria or RXT's LATCH connectors, and I just double-checked those (handed). Or does it just truly not make a tiny bit of difference in some cars, as much as it makes things a PITA in other cars?

I've never really noticed a difference in terms of ease of installation...

The only time I get mildy annoyed is with the hook style connectors on Graco bases. And it's only in some vehicles, and some installs, and even then it's fine, I just wish things layed flat and/or 'turned the corner' a little nicer.

Never had an issue with current or old style Britax connectors, or any push-on connector for that matter.
