Question Diono Monterey in a Suburban?

I read somewhere that the Monterey belt guides aren't friendly in the Suburban. Mine is a 2006 and I'd like to put it in the middle row captains chair (to use with LATCH) but could use periodically in the third row (no LATCH).

I just realized our Turbo expired like a year ago. I'd buy another but I'd like something heartier for him, he's a bit of a flimsy child and so is my next child down who will get it passed down eventually. I love the Monterey.

Is it all cars that the belt guides are unfriendly with on the Monterrey? Just got a 2012 Odyssey so I have lots of room for a big booster in the captain's chair.

From what I read and saw, if the buckle sits down in the seat bight (which mine do in the captains chairs) the it tends to bunch up.

Also, something about the shoulder belt guide.... I'm hoping someone can pinpoint what shoulder belts might work fine and what belts are incompatible. Like, if the come out of the car side it's fine and if the come out of the vehicle seat it's not. Does that make sense?
