Question Did I Miss This? Monterey Belt Guides

New member
I just got a monterey for DS maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago, it had the red belt guides, tried it in the car, and had the same problems as everyone else.I emailed Diono, and a week later I had the new head rest, it works perfect. I had no trouble getting the old headrest off, I even had a ruler and spatula all ready to go ;) but didn't need it. I just squeezed the red adjuster (that you use to raise or lower the head rest) and held it squeezed and pulled the headrest right out, no problems. The new one went right in. the hardest part of the process was convincing DS and DD the headrests were not battle axes

Yup, mine is working fine latched into the middle of 3rd row in my '10 Grand Caravan. Retracts just fine!
By any chance have you tested it outboard in the 3rd row of your van? I also have a 2010 Grand Caravan and ordered a Monterey from Kohl's last night to see how it fits DD but I might use it for DS1 for a while as I'm nowhere near ready for her to booster full time. He rides in the center in a HB Turbo now, but I'm curious if the Monterey will work outboard if we need it to.

Bumping this thread up. I bought a Monterey yesterday, DOM 06/12. It has the same belt guide as the second pic in the post with three belt guide pictures. I emailed Diono this morning requesting the updated belt guide. I tried it in the captains chair in my '09 Grand Caravan and it sometimes sticks. It's also a little tricky to pull the belt through to buckle. It's completely stuck when used in my 3rd row outboard (that's not a huge deal because I shouldn't need it back there).

Anyone have any trouble getting the updated head rest from Diono?

I just sent them an email with the model# and serial number, stated the issues I was having, and that I heard there was a new belt guide available, and asked if I could have one sent. I got a response the next day saying they were on backorder, but will have one ASAP, It arrived within a week, no issues. it works like a charm
