Darn, I got up early to watch and missed it. Didn't think it would be a lead story!

-Edit: I didn't realize the Today show was live EST only. It's tape delayed in other time zones so I guess it will be about 45 minutes into the broadcast elsewhere.

You looked great! And the soundbite they got was just about the size and fit being more important than age. I recognized that red Frontier immediately, and your ds was laughing, it was super cute.

edit: my tv is cutting off most of the bottom of the pictures, too many snow closure warnings taking up a huge portion of the screen. boooo.

It's only 7:30 here, so I switched it on. (I don't like watching video on my computer.) Can't wait!

A little more heads-up next time, ok? :p

Great job! I wanted to get Meredith though when she was talking about the fit of the booster and fitting some 3 year olds. I really like that they used the EB and showed why. I am going to linking and using this as great supporting data for my friend using the EB 3 in 1.

DH thought I was nuts, I was jumping and yelling for him to see it, saying, Hey, that's Darren from car-seat.org. He was interested in the info, just laughing that I was freaking out. :D

YES! GRRRRR and then the lady from IIHS or whatever - was she just a spokesperson or something? Seems SHE should definitely know better than to nod her head yes when a newsanchor says it might be appropriate for some 3 year olds. I looked - didn't seem like there was anywhere to comment. I would post it on my facebook, but afraid for people to hear the appropriate for some 3 year olds line.

I was disappointed in the focus on "4 to 8". The "4" part is somewhat good as it makes people realize that kids shouldn't be in a booster until 4 (although the anchor saying THREE didn't help), but makes it seem like once they're 8, they no longer need a booster. Not many 8 years old fit a seat belt properly.

I also wish they would have given Darren more time to speak about SIZE and not age. Although it was stated by him and someone else (news anchor? IIHS lady? can't remember) it did not come across as "oh, even though my chld is FOUR, their size doesn't allow them to be in a booster yet" or "oh, even though my child is EIGHT, their size means they still need to be in a booster".

And the IIHS lady? She came across as seriously uninformed. She barely knew why it was important for the shoulder belt to fit correctly. She did a VERY poor job of explaining what could happen in an accident if the shoulder belt sits off the shoulder.

I REALLY like the premise of the story, I just think it was too rushed, they jumped from one scene to another and no one really got to explain in clear terms what the issue is.
