I saw a link describing it somewhere here but it still was not clear to me why someone would say in another thread that cocooning for an infant with the neck load thing as being more acceptable than for an older child.

I am in a bind... there are no True Fits in my direct area. I don't even know if they have them in the next town. I need the seat on Monday, sooner than I thought. She should probably stay rear facing and it needs to fit a Mini. I dont like the total lack of padding of the Scenera.

Is it worth tracking down a True Fit, find a cheap one and wait for a True Fit ARB?

Or find some used seat for the time being and order the ARB in a few weeks?

I don't get the cocooning thing and my BLV has a tether so not sure how the other seats work without it. Is it a huge disservice to not have it, when most seats don't for RF?

Click the 'here' in my siggy and look up 'top tether, rearfacing' to see the ultimate word on rearfacing. Which is basically what you've already gathered, lol. It's good, but not a deal breaker. All rearfacing seats are incredibly safe. If you need a seat *now* then don't feel at all bad buying one that doesn't have any anti-rebound features.

I am in the San Jose Bay Area of California. NO ONE has the True Fit in any stores from what I can tell.

Are there any local people who know where I can see one?!

Does Lullaby Lane have any? Not that far a drive.

Targets in the Sacramento region have em. Hard to imagine Bay Area Targets don't.
