Chicco KidFit or Graco Turbobooster Grow

Hi. Looking at the Chicco Kidfit (it's on sale) booster for a 7.5 year old, 47 lbs (and maybe a future booster rider when she is over 40 lbs and around 6), I like that it has a recline function to adjust to the backseat and my soon wants good headwings when he needs to rest. It seems well padded too. But also looking at the Graco Turbobooster Grow (also on sale ), we like the headwings and that it has the removable portable backless boster, but I'm afraid it will be too upstraight. Any opinions on those two seats? other pros and cons ? (I like that price range, I like a latchable booster)

The Kidfit is one of the shortest HBB on the market; it will be outgrown about a year earlier in HBB mode by most kids than the Turbo.

The Grow's main advantage is the RightGuide which can be purchased separately.

Both can have issues with headrests interfering in newer cars. You'll likely need to remove the vehicle headrest to avoid a gap.

The Turbo and Kidfit can both adjust a bit to the recline of the vehicle seat but can't really recline. If you want true recline you'll need a much more expensive seat that has a true recline mode (Clek Oobr, Peg Perego Flex 120...) Far above your current price range.

In the current price range you're looking at, the Britax Skyline is another option to consider. It's much taller and will last most kids about 3 years longer than the Turbo, around 4 longer than the Kidfit in high back mode.

Thank you, I just read the Skyline review, it says that it's not the most padded booster, which boosters (with UAS, even if more expensive)) would you say are more padded than the Skyline?

Honestly I don't find that most boosters are that heavily padded but kids don't seem to care. It's more about ergonomics.

if my son is 74 inches tall at 7.5 with a normal torso, the KidFit should last him long enough?

How tall is his torso?

Sit him cross legged against a wall. Straight back. Mark the top of the shoulder and measure from there to the floor.

Right now he is at about 17 inches, he will be 8 years old in October

Ok, yes, a 17" torso is smaller than average for that age and height, so the KidFit would likely work for a while for him. The top guides are 19.5".

I think you have a typo for his standing height. Did you mean 47” and not 74”?
