Center latch

My car didn't come with an owners manual so I'm wondering if I can use the center latch in a 2001 Chrylser Sebring LXI. If not for car seat instal is it ok to latch a booster like say the monterey in the center just for stability? I get a better instal with the radian rf outboard and I really don't want to turn my 3.5 year old ff just because ds's booster is instable center. Yes I could drive the big van, but with gas prices climbing I would rather put everyone in the car.

That's the 4 door? then yes, Chrysler allows LATCH in that position. The spacing is non-standard at 344 mm, or 13.54 inches. That means the Radian allows it too. As of the 2011 LATCH manual, they allow borrowing between 11 and 14 inches.

The Monterey allows borrowing as long as it doesn't interfere with the seatbelt buckling.

Yes it's a 4 door. I really just wanted to get that Monterey in the center so I could put the radian outboard (seatbelt of course since I would be using the latch for the Monterey). I can't get an acceptable install center in that car with the radian. I get a great instal with the myride, complete air, and infant seats but the child using it is 41-42lbs and needs the extra weight the radian allows. Thanks!

Yup, the Monterey as fine, as long as it doesn't interfere with the seatbelt. The LATCH strap on it only holds the seat in place. It doesn't restrain the child, so you don't need to worry about weight limits or borrowing/spacing.
