Carseat recommendation

Hello, I'm looking for a recommendation for a car seat. I have 2 children and one on the way so I'm going to need to fit 3 across. Jeep Patriot 2016 5 year old Costco Mightyfit 65 ff 43in 39lbs 11 year old Graco Turbo Booster Backless 70lbs 55in (I know her seat maxes at 57in, not sure if she'd need a new booster or could pass 5 step, but I don't anticipate her growing 2 inches in the next month before baby is born.) Budget is up to $200 if possible. Thanks!

Hi Roxanne, welcome and congratulations!

3-across may be challenging in the Patriot. I don't know for certain if your current seats can be arranged with a new rear-facing only infant seat, but it's definitely possible.

If your 11-year old can 5-step in the middle and there is adequate head restraint and good lap/shoulder belt fit, that may allow the best chance at fitting two seats on each side. Also, your 5-year old may be ready to start using a booster by the time baby arrives if they are mature enough to remain seated properly? That would help as well.

If you do need to fit 3-across carseats, the Chicco Keyfit is a good place to start and this is a decent price on the Keyfit 30 and it has the easy remove cover too: https://amzn.to/2ANybHp - It is smaller than average, fits your budget and tends to fit well in many vehicles and seating positions. Just make sure that you buy from a retailer that has free returns just in case. Some third party sellers on Amazon and Walmart do not offer this and it can cost a fortune to return. Carseats sold/shipped by Amazon and Walmart do offer free returns, as do Target and BuyBuyBaby among others.
