Carseat causing back pain?

Our youngest has always hated the car. (she has sensory issues). In the beginning we thought maybe it was her carseat (Momentum 65) so we tried a bucket. When that didn't help we went back to the Momentum.
Fast forward 2 years..I've noticed she has a red mark on her spine when she gets out of her seat. It looks like it would cause pain. A new seat isn't really in the budget right now. Her OT suggested turning her FF, but that was for sensory reasons....she just seems too young to me. (she's 27 months) and it feels like a waste to have so much room RF and switch her already. Is there anything else we can try?

I wouldn't turn her FF. That likely won't help much. Can you add some (thin) layers to her clothing before car rides? Maybe the extra fabric will help (obviously nothing puffy or compressible, I'm thinking a few thin diaper shirts).

See if you can get a different cover from evenflo, I think people have had similar issues with the triumph from a seam in the cover.

Yes, that would be me! DD's (now crashed) Triumph Advance has always left a mark on her back. Does the Momentum have a no-rethread harness? Because that's the problem on the EFTA. We're now using a hand-me-down (don't worry, not crashed, not expired) Britax Decathlon and it doesn't leave a red mark! Yay!

Not sure if the Momentum is like the Triumph, but the Triumph has foam that ends abruptly mid back and that seemed uncomfortable to me so I skipped it.
