Car seat for baby with achondroplasia/dwarfism

Hi,

A friend of mine just gave birth to a son with achondroplasia. She is trying to look into different car seats, and cannot find much infromation available regarding car seats in the US. Can someone give me ideas of what car seats are good?

Something that fits very flat with an L rather than C shape is probably good. Babies with this form of dwarfism start out normally proportioned and usually typical size at birth but that changes as they grow. There is a high rate of neck issues as they get a little older, though. The Evenflo LiteMax, Safety 1st Onboard, or Cosco/Safety 1st Lite and Comfy are good rear facing only choices for this. As he gets a little older she should look for the same thing in a convertible- a Graco MyRide or Evenflo SureRide or Sonus, perhaps.
