Can you tell me your interpretation of Transport Canada's statement here?

It is important to note that if you own a car seat or booster seat made before January 1, 2012, under Health Canada's Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, you may not be able to advertise, sell, or give it (including lending) away because it may not meet the latest requirements set out by Health Canada.


To me it reads that your seat could or could not meet the new regulations so if you confirm that it DOES, you are okay to sell/give it away.

What's your opinion?

This thread may be of some help: http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=206155. Different manufacturers started making seats to meet the new regulations at different times. If a car seat meets the 2012 regulations, it is legal to sell/buy.

yup, I see that now.

Some people are having difficulty reading for comprehension on the May not part, it's annoying if nothing else.

And note that some places like Kijiji, won't allow you to sell a seat made prior to January 1, 2012 regardless if it meets the 2012 standards.
