Question britax convertible infant inserts. . .

the manual states "the infant positioning pillow must be used with infants weighing UP TO 22lbs when using the child seat in a rear facing position. DO NOT use over 22 lbs or in a forward-facing position."

ds is a lil over 19 lbs naked. so fully clothed and cloth diapered and shoes he's a lil over 21. when do i stop using it? now? since it is obviously worded in a way that means 22lbs 1oz is a no no. but obviously his weight is going to change daily depending on clothes etc.

I am also wondering about this. My daughter is 15 months old and weighs around 19 pounds. I just installed my new Britax Roundabout and started using it with the infant pillow like I am supposed to. However, I noticed right away that when I was tightening my daughter into the seat the buckle seemed really low down between her legs and the straps pinched her thighs. I also can't seem to get the top part tight enough because it's getting too tight around her legs. I don't think this would be happening without the pillow. Help?

OP, it is fine to go by the fully clothed weight; feel free to round up to the nearest pound if you like and remove it. Britax does not want parents stressing out about questions like "clothed vs. naked weight? my scale or the doctor's? before or after a big meal?"

To the poster who asked about the 15 month old child, the Britax straps are designed to be over the thighs and often seem a bit loose over the tummy when properly tightened. Check for tightness only at hips and shoulders.

As OP said, I wouldn't worry about taking it out. Especially for a child of that age. To the second poster: Make sure you pull the slack at the hips, feed it through the crotch buckle and up to the shoulders, then tighten No need to check for slack at the belly. The harness holds the child in at the hips and shoulders, so just ensure that the slack is removed from these areas.
