Britax Boulevard 65 and tall 22 month old

Ok, my ds2 is even taller than ds1 was at this age. I just measured him with nearly a 14" torso height. He is still happily rf in his boulevard 65. I know we will get to 2 and a bit beyond, but not sure how far. I am hoping his legs will grow and he can fit a bit longer!

He is looking like he will be 37" by 2! I wanted to get him to at least 3 or 3.5 Do you think this will be possible? Depending on when the Boulevard is outgrown, I may consider a Radian if it will give him another year.

His brother was 36" at 2 and 39" at 3. So if DS 2 follows similar growth pattern, he will be 37" at 3 and 40" at 4. I think his torso is a little longer than his legs, but pretty proportional. 2t shirts and pants now. Some 3t shirts fit already though it could be just because they are hand-me downs.

So. Is it realistic to think it is possible to rf closer to 3.5 or 4 with either current seat or radian. Looks like radian top harness slot is 1" higher than our boulevard 65, but the shell is only .5".

How much does he weigh? If he's on the lighter side, you could consider a Truefit. Super super tall but only a 35 lb RF weight limit.

I don't think that would work. He is nearly 30 lbs at 22 months. So by 2 will be 30 or 31 lbs. I think we will need at least a 40 lb seat to get past 3 for sure. I guess my biggest question is how much torso growth is average between 2 to 4 yrs old.

I would expect most 40" kids to still fit in the radian. Ds was 36" at 2 and 40" at 3. His torso height at 2 was 14.25 and now it is 15.25. He turns 4 tomorrow and I need to get a new measurement on his overall height but he is right at the height limit on the radian. He is a bit long in torso but nothing crazy. I would just wait and see though. I bet you will get to 3 with your current seat. The size 4 me might work too or a great budget option might come out to squeeze out that extra 6-12 months.

ETA: he is right at the rf height limit, not the overall limit

DS2 - 2.5 - is huge. He was 38" at his 2 yr appt and has grown several since, he's outgrown some of his 4t shirts already still in 3t pants. He still has plenty of room in his radian, he's ever so slightly below the 4th slots. In our other car he's in a peg with room to grow. He was in a blvd 65 with room above his head until a few months ago but he hit the weight limit so I moved him to the peg. I cant imagine that any 40" kid wouldn't fit in a radian.

I have the tallest child ever (tall, with a long torso). He outgrew the radian RF at 3.5 by weight, but still fit in it by height. I'm sure there are a handful of other kids who outgrow it before 3.5, but not many at all. If 3.5 is the lower limit of your goal, and the issue is height, I'd guess a radian would do ya.

Great! I am feeling much better now. If only my Boulevard had. 40 lb weight limit! Guess we will watch and see whe he outgrows and then consider a Radian. Do you think a r100 would get us close to 4? 40lbs seems like a lot to me as my 4.5 yr old is still not 40 with clothes and shoes. B

Is there a lot of comfort difference in the r120 with the memory foam? I could even consider an Rxt depending on good sale.

Thanks a lot!
