Can't find any adult booster seat for the front passenger, that the would turn on the air bag. Always shows "air bag off" if we use a cushion.

74 yr old female, approx. 150lb in a Sorento
Usually it is a weight sensor that should definitely cause the airbag to be ON for a 150 lb. person. This might need to be checked by a Kia dealer.
There are no belt-positioning booster seats approved for that weight. Adults are less likely to need one for poor shoulder belt fit. Unlike a child, they should know better than to put the shoulder belt behind their arm or back if it is rubbing on their neck. If it is a basic seat cushion for comfort, the airbag should still be enabled for that weight of person and would still need to be checked by a Kia dealer to make sure the airbag sensor is working properly.
