Booster seat advice please

I have my 9 year old (55lb 50") riding in my two Subaru vehicles (Impreza and forester). The problem I am running into is that a backless booster makes the shoulder belt look like it is too far over on his shoulder. How close to his neck should the belt be?

If our current seats don't work does anyone know of a booster that works well with kind of low shoulder belts?

Also I tried the Cosco topside and while the shoulder belt looked better the lap belt was way down on his thighs

Thanks in advance

Yes the incognito would be great if it had a lower weight minimum. He was 55 lbs fully dressed and fed so it might be a while before he gains enough. Or not you never know.

I tried a harmony youth. The shoulder belt was just ok, the strap helped a little but it was hard to deal with on a daily basis.

Should I keep him in high backs? What about a booster with higher armrests, would they allow the shoulder belt to sit up higher?

If he fits in high backs that might be best.

I thought if the 55 was naked then fully dressed he was probably close, sorry.
