Booster recommendation

I am totally new to the world of boosters! Please help a girl out. . .

DD is 4y3m, 42lbs and 42 inches. She rides in a Nautilus, Frontier, and Regent on a regular basis and that's not going to change, but I would really feel comfortable with having a spare seat for her that grandma can use. I don't trust her to install a harnessed seat correctly and due to our circumstances, I wouldn't be there to do it every time. Plus even the Nautilus is more than I care to spend for a spare. This is just an emergency kind of thing, like picking her up from pre-k if I can't make it there in time. If I showed her how to use a booster, I think she'd do fine with that.

I know DD is young for a booster but she has gotten a lot more mature recently and I think she'd do fine in one for the 20 min ride home. Of course I'd do a trial around the neighborhood first.

So, what booster do you think might work for her? I want to reiterate that this is just for emergencies and probably won't be used more than once every few months, if that. I also want something that will continue to work for her as she gets older, so in the next couple of years. She's been very average height/weight all her life and I don't really expect that to change.

If your daughter is average, then Josef really is a shorty shrimp :p Josef is shorter/lighter than most boys his age-most girls are taller than him though right now. Josef is approx 45" tall (he is going thru a HUGE growth spurt right now) and hanging on to that 40lbs mark. Everyone can not belive his will be six in November-they all say he is tiny!

We  our Monterey and it fits Josef very well, but I know other children who compare in his size that it does not fit. I am not sure if you want to spend as much as the Monterey costs either for a spare seat, even if it would last a very long time. I can understand money concerns very well!

The Turbo seems to fit smaller booster riders well, just remeber to put the screws in the arm-rest, they are a must. My Target had some on clearance for $40 the other day :)

I know the Vivo's have been on sale recently, not sure how much you can get one for and the DOMs are about two years old already. Honestly I would rather get a Turbo for about the same price with a newer DOM over a Vivo.

My 42"/40lb 4.5yo DD fits very well in a Turbobooster, though slightly better in an old-style Parkway.

Thanks! The TB might just fit the bill, especially since my Target has a bunch of them on sale. I'll go check them out.

Since the TB is cheap enough, I don't mind replacing it in a couple of years it if no longer fits well. I'm glad to know it fits younger/smaller kids well, though!
