Best five point harness booster

My son is 7 years old 4’5” and 61 pounds I would like to keep him in a five point harness because he still falls asleep in the car. What is my best option for a high back booster with a 5 point harness?

Hmm, that's a tough one. Assuming you're in the US, nobody makes a harnessed seat that goes over 65 pounds anymore, as far as I know. Most have a 49" standing height limit, and most harnesses don't go higher than about 19" seated shoulder height.

What seat is he outgrowing now? He is already outgrown most options.

It might be better to consider a supportive high back belt positioning booster at his age and size.

Do you have a budget? I'll do some research and let you know if I find any harnessed options.

The Harmony Defender actually goes to 57" in standing height, and still that 65 pound limit. Unfortunately, I can't find it for sale anywhere reputable. I couldn't find any other seats that would have any growing room for him.

Most boosters only have a 57" height limit as well, though some go up to 63". Some are of the opinion that standing height limits for belt-positioning boosters are less important than weight and fit. Knowing your child's seated shoulder height would be really helpful. Just sit him crosslegged against a wall and measure to the top of his shoulder. Use that info and this comparison chart to help you narrow your choices. https://carseatblog.com/compare/high-back-boosters/

The Ride Safer Travel Vest may be a bit more supportive especially if used with tether and locked belt.

That said most children his age can be taught to look up when sleepy, which can really help keep them upright (it's the trick I use myself.)
