Backup seats?

what would you buy as a back up booster/training booster?
At age 4 ds has a 15.5" torso(but my car eats about an inch or maybe more so i like to overestimate by saying his torso is functionally 16.5" lol) he's 38-39 lbs. 42" tall. We won't be training for a year. So I'm predicting his torso will be 16.5"(functionally could be up to 17.5" tall) when we start training at age 5. When we booster full time(age 6) he will use his fn85. So this seat will be used for a year infrequently and as a backup after that. I'm considering amp, or tb with safety surround. But there's a big price difference. I like that these those to lbb so he can use that for school trips if he outgrows the hbb part. Between these 2 what do you think? I know many reccomend probooster but it's pricy plus it's big and doesn't convert to lbb along with it being tippy.

What do you think? Definitely need to stay under $100 but portability is a big concern.

The Turbo is a little annoying to move between cars all the time, just because it falls apart into backless mode if you don't hold both the upper and lower parts. It's difficult for a kid to carry especially. The Amp stays together better but sometimes it has a little less than perfect belt fit.

Two others you might look at - the Recaro Vivo, though it doesn't convert to backless, I like a lot as a HBB and you can find around $80. The Britax Parkway you can usually get for about $90 and is another great seat.

And for the LBB portion you could also always get a Harmony Literider - for $14 it's a good idea to have one in the trunk for friends/carpool anyway and he could always use it if he needs to for school trips and such.
