Okay, I went to bru intending to check out (maybe even purchase) the BT fastback. That didn't go as planned..so I thought id post why. I know someone had posted that you can't tighten the harness enough. That's certainly true! The straps are also super close together on the neck area.
While playing around with the seat, I got the impression that they never tried a real child in the seat!

I wanted to like this seat so bad. But, there was NO way this seat would work for us.

I tried my ds (5.5 yr old 36lb 42in) in it. I could *barely* get the harness tight enough. On the plus side, he seemed to have more growing room in it than his radian! He really liked the seat. The close harness straps didn't bother him. No pics of him though. Didn't think about it.

On to the pics.

Here's my dd (will be 4 in march, 26lbs, 38in).

Here's as tight as I could get the harness.

And in the 3 minutes or less that she sat in this seat, her neck ended up looking like this on both sides. Obviously this seat it a no-go for her.

And here she is in the TFP

No, I didn't end up getting anything. I'm gonna continue to try and hold out for the kiddy world plus.

Thanks for the pics. Your DD is adorable. My almost 4 year old DS is quite taken with her. He kept saying pretty girl.

Then I got to the last pic and he says he needs that seat.

I wonder if it has to do with the child's build or something. My 11 month old doesn't meet ANY of the seat's minimums (age, height, and weight) but I had no problem tightening the harness and I could have taken another inch out before running out of adjuster strap.

Maybe..I mean, she is really skinny. But I would think that my 5.5 yr old would've fit better. I ran out of strap to tighten *right* at the point where I thought it was acceptably tight.

It does make me wonder how this seat works for the people who have bought it.

Older thread I know, but new here (although long time lurker). :)

We made a special trip to check out the Fastback when TRU had it on sale for $159 a few weeks ago. DS1 is 4 and currently rides FF in a TF(C630) :)love:). Looking for a new combination seat for when DS2 (~1) will move out of his infant seat and into the TF (RF of course). I really wanted to like the Fastback, but I noticed his head was really far forward - like the headrest was pushing it forward. I didn't say anything and when I asked how he liked it, he said he didn't - that he couldn't put his head back. Like the OP said, its like they didn't try a real kid in the seat!

All these months have passed, and my BRU still hasn't sold a single Fastback. Gosh they take up a lot of space where Frontiers and Nautiluses should be. I hope we send the whole lot of them back from whence they came :p
