ASAP question about traveling

I know there is a forum for this (and I posted there), but I'm not getting any response. You guys are always the greatest and I know this is where the action is...SO

I'm leaving tomorrow with my 5yo son and am bringing a seat. The question is which one? I have a Marathon and a Frontier 85. I am not too concerned about lugging the extra weight/size of the Frontier and would like to bring it. I have seen a lot of happy people on here that traveled with their Marathon, but not too much on the Frontier. Am I going to regret taking the Frontier instead of the Marathon? BTW we will be flying and doing a fair amount of driving, which it will be used for as well. My ds is almost 48" and close to 50 LBS. He fits in both seats, but loves his Frontier (I think it's the cupholders!) I will be forever grateful for your educated response tonight! Thank you.

He'll have more leg room in the FR, and it'll be easier to uninstall because there's not a closed belt path. The trade off is less room for the person next to it.

Thank you, that's what I was hoping to hear. I'll try to take some in-flight pics and update my avatar with them! (it is very old and needs to be updated anyhow) Thanks again. If anyone else wants to pipe in, I'll check once more in the AM.
