Apex 65 in Booster Mode?

We have an Apex 65 that was being used as a back up seat (and one to fly with b/c the BLVD was too heavy to tote around an airport!). So, we are needing a booster for my son (40+pound, 5.5y/o-has been booster training) for my husband's vehicle (Jeep Liberty, 2007). How does the Apex 65 do in booster mode? Should I just keep it as a 5pt harness back-up seat and buy a different booster? Or, do they typically perform well, fit well, etc.

Thanks!!

I think the main problem that some people experience is that it's a wider seat and that makes it not work so well with some kids. But it has the open belt path which is .

Give it a try and see how it fits.

Thanks! We will give it a try. Just wanted to be sure it performs well as a booster. I've been fine with it as a back up seat, but hadn't seen much on it as a booster. We're happy with the way the Evenflo Big Kid HBB fits my son in my vehicle, but not how it is in my husband's (belt stalks low and it makes it really hard to buckle).

watch how the lap belt sits. it has a tendancy to sit far away fron the child's body with it being SOOOO wide. hard to buckle too.

if the apex doesn't work for you as a booster try a turbo. they fit kids of various sizes really well.
