7yo in a NBB

Would you be okay with a 7yo in a NBB?

I drive him 3 days/week and up to 40 minutes/ride.

If not, what cheaper booster would you suggest?

My 7 year old rides in one full time, but she isn't a car sleeper. She's 50" and 57lbs. And almost 8, lol. But my 6.5 year old rides in one around town occasionally, just short trips and and times she won't likely fall asleep.

So yes. :)

I would be okay with it (as a parent). I would also be ok with my nanny/sitter transporting my 7yo that way provided the child could stay in position without the back/headwings :)

Are they too tall for the Turbo or the Amp with the back? If they aren't I would just get one of those.

I am going to move my 7 year old (turned 7 this spring) to a backless as soon as the new Diono comes out. He sleeps just fine in a backless. Currently he is in a Nautilus HBB. He has always found the Nautilus uncomfortable, but now he is just getting too big for the seat pan with the back on and is just soooo uncomfortable. The Nautilus is the only HBB that fits with my headrests, otherwise I might try to continue with a more comfy HBB. Although, honestly I am finding I feel more comfortable with him way back against the vehicle seat than artificially pushed forward by the back on the booster. Anyway, absolutely yes I would be 100% comfortable with my 7 year old child in a properly fitted LBB that does not require the shoulder strap guide for fit (if i needed that clip for proper belt fit, I would just use a HBB).

As long as the 7 year old knows to stay in position and doesn't fall asleep in the car, I would be fine with it.

I think it depends on the kid. My oldest could sit well from 6 in one. My youngest gets fidgety because he likes to sleep so anything over 15 mins he has to be in HBB.

My 6 & 8yo use backless boosters in our Mazda. I was thinking we wouldn't use it as much as my saturn but we've been using it a lot this summer. I feel they're both very safe in the NBB's, I did put a HBB in for DS when we drove an hour for a day at the museum last month, I figured he'd probably fall asleep on the drive home (which he did).

Thank you all. I'm thinking he'll be fine in it. He never falls asleep, so I'm not worried about that. Last summer I had him in the ProSport harnessed, so I was planning to use their ProBooster but it tips way too much in my car.
