Hello all,

We will be expecting our third child in Sept. We need to figure out options for three car seats across in the back of the Accent. My oldest is almost 4 - just under 40 lbs, middle is 18 months and about 25 pounds and then we will have the infant. Right now both kids are in convertible seats older facing front and younger facing back.

Any tips on types of carseats to make this work?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Roberta, 3-across in an Accent or any subcompact car is going to be a major challenge, when it is possible at all. Perhaps the most likely option is to use 3 very narrow convertibles/all-in-ones, like the Graco True3Fit (Walmart) or SlimFit3 LX (Amazon) https://amzn.to/3NIqwK1. Please note the SlimFit 3 LX is narrower than the original SlimFit model. Whatever you buy, make sure it is sold/shipped by Amazon, Walmart or other major retailer, not a third party seller, and make sure it has free returns. There is a good chance you may not like a particular model or that the setup may not work. Shipping back a large seat like this is a small fortune that will likely cost more than any deal you find without free returns.

We have some other general tips. A travel vest may be an option that will fit next to other models, for example: https://carseatblog.com/49714/3across/
