3 Across in a Chevy Cobalt

Not mine, a friend is asking for her sis. They have a 4 year old, a 2 year old and one on the way. Not sure what seats they already have or which way the 2 year old is facing. Is a 3 across even a possibility in this car? If so, what combo of seats did you get to work with it?

Thanks :)

A couple members with Cavaliers or Cobalts have done so if I'm remembering correctly. I think Kashi used to drive a Cavalier with 3 across, and Kat has/had a Cobalt in which she has installed 3 across. If they don't see this thread to reply, you could try sending a PM to either or both of them for input, and also use the "search this thread" tool atop the forum's Successful 3 Across thread at http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=33226 for any entries they or others may have submitted for the Cavalier or Cobalt to possibly get some suggestions. :twocents:

It's tight, but possible. For the baby on the way I would tell them to get a Keyfit 30 if they want an infant seat. It's a great seat, narrow, and fits the Cobalt well. It also puzzles well with FF Radians.

We have a 2008 Cobalt and when DD2 was born DD1 was 4 and DS was 2 and still RF. I couldn't fit the Keyfit next to a RF Radian so we had this order: RF Keyfit, FF Radian, Keyfit. It was a tight fit for the driver and front passenger but DH and I are both 5'10" and we made it work. Then once DS was FF we had this order: FF Radian, Keyfit, FF Radian. When DD2 outgrew the Keyfit 30 we switched to this order: Recaro ProBooster, RF Radian, FF Radian. Honestly it's a giant PITA to buckle DD1 into the booster so if I see a good sale on a Radian XTSL I'll get one for her for this car. It just hasn't been a priority since we got our second car and the kids rarely ride in the Cobalt anymore.

I seriously recommend the Radian/Keyfit combo. What do they have for seats now? I think they would need at least one Radian and the Keyfit to make it work.

i have a Chevy cobalt. I’m trying to figure out what kind of car seat to get for a new born with a base. I have 2 car seats front facing, and I’m trying to find a small car seat to fit. Any recommendations?

What seats do you have now? How old/tall/heavy are the kids riding in them? I used to have an HHR, which was on the Cobalt frame. I had a Chicco Keyfit and played with some setups. There may be possibilities we can expand on with more info!
