Thank you all for a great 2013! Basically it will be the status quo moving into 2014 with very few changes.
1) No changes have been made to subscription prices and no increases are anticipated for 2014.
2) No changes are being made to the software or features at this time. A major upgrade to vBulletin 4 or 5 or Xenforo is still being considered for later this year.
3) The new server has been working very well for almost a year now. No changes are anticipated, as I do not expect a significant growth in traffic for 2014.
4) All sponsors intend to renew for 2014! Thank you to premier sponsors Recaro, Clek, SnuggleBugz, Maxi-Cosi, Kids-N-Cribs and Britax, as well as sponsors CarseatPoncho, Tadpole Adaptive, Carseat.se and RideSaferTravelVest! Thank you to all the other sponsors as well!
5) The live Chat room will likely be downgraded or eliminated upon renewal next month, due to lack of use.
6) Traffic was good in 2013 and Revenues were very good, resulting in the stable subscription rates and less urgency to upgrade to a new forum platform just yet. No new advertising placements or changes to advertisements are planned.
7) Our mobile app support has been poor in the last 2 years, due to its developer selling his company. I am concerned that the app may lose future support and will have to consider an alternative like Tapatalk or a major forum upgrade if the mobile app is discontinued in the future.
8) Thank you to all of our great community members and visitors who have continued to visit and support Car-Seat.Org! I know there are other forums and other media like Facebook that vie for your attention, and appreciate that many of you remain here on a smaller, independently owned forum! We continue to allow virtual anonymity and remain free of many of the privacy issues that haunt larger, corporate-owned websites.
