Today, I am so thankful to be a CPST...

I just got off the phone with my SIL. They were in a crash last night, with my niece in the van:eek: Everyone is fine, SIL has a bump on her head, but no major injuries. DN "didn't even move" in her TF, according to SIL. Apparenlty BIL swerved to avoid something and their van flipped onto its side and slid for about 100 metres:eek:

I am so very, very thankful that I was able to teach them how to properly install the seat when she was born (she's 4 months) and that they had it installed correctly and she was buckled in snugly.

Off to hug my babies close, and swap out my seats so she can use DS's TF until she can get a new one.

Well that's a happy success story! I bet they are so thankful, too! Most of the time when we install seats and teach parents how to do it properly, those seats will simply be a comfortable place for baby/child to sit until they are ready for the adult seatbelt. But the whole reason we do it is for that chance that something like this could happen, when that cozy throne becomes a life saver.

Good work, mama!

how scary.
its nice that you have a spare seat she can borrow.\
hope insurance covers her new seat quickly and without issue.

Yikes, how scary for everyone. Lucky little girl that her parents listened to your advice and had her in her seat safely. And awesome job at teaching them to do it properly. :)

I'm glad nobody was seriously hurt.

Here's to hoping that ICBC is cooperative with the seats.

Let us know if she needs help getting her car insurance carrier to cover the replacement costs of not only the car seat, but the adult seatbelts that were in use at the time. We have our ways.....

Hopefully ICBC doesn't give them trouble. I've lent them DS's TF for now, and put him back in the MA.

Their van is totaled, so no need to worry about replacing seatbelts ;)
