Question Height limits in rf seats

I am trying to find out about height limits on rf seats, because I know when my girls (age 7 and 4) were younger, we were able to keep them rf till they were about 36", but now almost all the seats on the market stop at 32", and a couple go to 33". My ds, who is 15 months, is 31" and he's in a Radian. I don't want to move him ff yet, but I can't seem to find any seats in Canada that allow for extended rf.

The First Years True Fit has a stated RF height limit of 1" below the top of the hard shell of the seat. I'm drawing a blank on whether there is another seat in Canada that doesn't have a numerical limit (just the 1" rule).

They really should all use the 1" rule, but for reasons discussed in other threads here (but still really not all too clear), most manufacturers have seemingly arbitrary RF height limits that don't match the RF weight limits (i.e. you'd never get to the weight limit with such a low height limit).

While it generally isn't advisable to disregard something in the manual, this is one area where most techs would say it is OK to make an informed parental decision to ignore the RF numerical height limit and use the 1" rule. When my son was 32" he probably had about 5" above his head in the Marathon - so 4" of growing room by the 1" rule. Seat outgrown RF by their 32" limit. Silliness.

EvenFlo Triumph Advance is another Canadian seat that does not have the RF 32 inch rule.
