True Fit question

We finally made it out to Baby Earth to look at the TF and we love the seat. We only had one concern. On the side of the seat it had a label that showed the bottom two harness slots for Rear Facing and the top three Harness slots for Forward Facing. Does this mean we can not use the seat in the 3-4 harness slots when Rear Facing? Our DD needs to be in the slot 3 at this point.

The manual stated that the seat could be used Rear Facing up to 1 inch under the top of the seat.

Learning Curve has retroactively allowed position 3 to be used rf'ing. It is in their FAQ on their website IIRC. It sounds like the display model may have been older - I think the new seats are coming with the new labels and instructions.

If you had the infant insert in, you'll also find that she probably doesn't need position 3 once it's removed. It has to come out at 22lbs, and can make a big difference in what slot is needed from what I've seen posted here.

Mine was manufactured 1/08 and has the 1 and 2 sticker on the side. It wasn't very long after that (March maybe?) that the stickers got changed.

My daughter is three and still on the second harness slot, my niece is 13 months and has not made it to slot 1 w/o the insert.

Mine was a 3/08 DOM and still had the old stickers. But on Learning Curve's website in their FAQ it says that 1,2,3 can be used RF.

My daughter just turned 3 years, and is 29 pounds. I think she has an average torso and would still be on the 2nd slots.

Mine has a DOM of I think 02/09 and both the manual and the stickers on the side indicate that 1, 2 & 3 can be used for RF and 2, 3 & 4 are for FF. I know that's a big gap from the early 08's, but somewhere in there they did change the stickers and manual!

Thanks for all the responses. I'm not sure if the seat had the infant cushion in it or not. Is the removable cushion that lays down in the lower section of the seat the infant cushion that should be removed at 22lbs or is there 2 different sets of removable cushions?

That is the infant cushion. It must be removed at 22 pounds. It's really there to help babies be above the bottom slots :) If slot 3 is below your DD shoulders, I'd bet the padding was still in.
