Here's the picture - it was taken on a trip I took with my father and step-mother in 1982.

So - what do you see wrong with this picture ?

It doesn't look like there are any seats in the back of the van. Of course, I could be wrong...most vans from this era had the ultra safe "old chair from the living room" or a super protective version of the "mattress from the spare bed".:)

I bet the cardboard box next to it is full of wonderful camping supplies like pots, frying pans, knives, forks, tin plates...

I'm certain we had appliances in our kitchen in the 70's that were that horrid Harvest Yellow colour...

Hehe

We STILL have horrid Harvest Yellow in our kitchen! :(
(and Avocado Green and Powder Blue in the bathrooms....sigh)

I'm a guy... I thought it was the paint job. :D

With a screen name that's pronounced "wine-o," I'd believe it. :D LOL.
[Oh, wait, that's Splash's post about her nephew's potential names. :p ]

I think the carpet would have provided some protection, no?

My "play" furniture (sink, stove, frig, cupboard) was made by my dad :) and painted Avocado Green. Cool, when you're 3 in 1971. Not so cool when it's still your only bedroom furniture at 11 in 1980. [He finally made my desk that year. But the kitchen set is still around and it's STILL green.]

The van's rear window curtains create bigger blind spots from a safety standpoint, while being an integral part of the groovy color scheme. ;)

Please tell me the Avocado Green and the Powder Blue are in separate bathrooms!

Oh yes, thank goodness!!!....(shudder) And, the gold in the kitchen is just the sink. I can live w/ a gold sink as long as my appliances are nice shiny white!

The avocado bathroom is the worst though. The entire tub surround, two sinks and half of the toilet are green. The toilet seat however is white, because I insisted we get a new one when we moved in and ...surprise, surprise...they don't make pukey green ones anymore. It's quite lovely....
