BRU Gear Trade In... Worth it?

I have two car seats that I could possibly trade in for 20% off coupons. Today is the last day to do it, coupon good in store only. They won't allow double stacking, I already called and asked. I will however, get two seperate coupons for the two car seats.

I *really* should not be buying anything else. I just bought a new True Fit so I'm good with car seats. I don't need any other gear...I want more car seats, I just don't need car seats.

So I could just straight up trash the seats I'd be trading in-- one has been in a crash, one is expired. Should I do that? Or drive them the 45 minutes to my closest BRU and see what they have to buy, most likely get nothing, and leave it to them to deal with the seats?

WWYD?

Keep in mind I'll be bringing a two year old along for the ride. Oh how fun that would be.

I bought a seat at a garage sale yesterday, Evenflo Discovery with a July 1999 DOM. I took it in knowing I didn't need any seats, I had no interest in any of the seats BRU has and ended up making an expectant couple very happy. Their first is due Saturday and the still need the car seat! So if you are up for the trek with a 2 yo you could always just go to spread good Karma.
Of course, 45 minutes is a distance...

Same! I took two seats into BRU that I had gotten off of freecycle, that were very well expired. I traded one in to get a MR, the other I ended up giving to a mama who is due in a couple weeks.

Side note: Also help her lean away from britax seats as that's what she wanted. They didn't want a bucket so they ended up purchasing a MR once they found out my 3 year old can still RF in it. :)

To me it was. I had a 3 year old Graco High Chair I really didn't like and wanted to craigslist. Theres so much crap on our craigslist I honestly don't think I could have sold it for more than 10 bucks

But with the trade in, I bought a $180 high chair, so the "trade in" of the high chair gave me $36.00

So for me it was worth it :) I was getting rid of the other one anyways, and buying this one regardless and the trade in gave me more money than selling it

It depends on what you want/need. If you don't need anything and don't want to spend the money, I wouldn't do it (unless you want to make the trip for karma and give someone else your coupons).

For me, it was totally worth it. We needed a crib for baby, and I happened to have an old Portabout (crummy seat, plus nearly expired). I traded it in and saved $40 on my crib!

If you're up for going, trade in, get the coupons, and then give them to someone else in the store looking to purchase gear. They are only good today, but they don't put your name on it or anything.

For me the trade in was awesome. Traded an about to expire crappy old evenflo triump and saved $50 on the complete air!
