Why I'm replacing the BV (pics)

I never used this seat with Charlie this young, I had another BV for him at that time. So I never noticed the issue with this. It gets lesser as it goes up, but this is where it is at now and obviously not okay for a baby. His head has gotten stuck underneath it as well, because it flops forward so badly.

 I don't think it's supposed to do that. I used a BV with BabyS at it's lowest, and don't remember seeing that. Did you call Britax?

Yeah, Britax asked for pictures, I just emailed them. I think. She told me the email, and I just sent it, but it bounced back at me. I tweaked it a bit and hopefully it'll go through.
I'd like them to replace it, otherwise I guess it's toast.

Are the new BVs pretty flush with the back of the seat?
I remember that kids were having issues, but I hadn't seen it this bad before. I've disassembled it to make sure there is nothing stuck or broken, nothing. It hasn't been used in close to two years, except for a few days in the last month and once or twice in my dad's truck, always FF for Charlie. Otherwise it's been sitting in my living room most of its life.

This is why I replaced Jordan's old style Blvd with another Marathon. He was much older when we got the Blvd, but had a short torso. The head flop didn't necessarily bother me, but it bothered him.

Wow, that is bad. A has a longer torso, so it's not as bad on ours now, but I still have to reach back and pull his head up. It sucks. I've switched back to a tf in our car now, and put the blvd in my moms. Debating whether to keep it or not too.

Wow! I have a BV with old-style wings and when it does go forward as it goes up (more as it goes up, less when it is down) it is not that bad even at the top...

If Britax replaces it, either a new BV or a MA (I'd rather go MA, but this is for the van and AJ likes the BV). If not, an EFTA.

I have an old and a new style BV, and they are about 2-3" away from the back at the top. Yours is excessively forward.

I have a new style Boulevard and it isn't even close to being that far.

ETA- I took some pics just now with the headrest all the way down. LMK if you want me to post them.... or take any other pics. I can fit a finger between the headrest and the shell... so not completely flush, but close.

Wow thats crazy! We have an older BV (from 07, is ours the same version?) and it isnt nearly that bad! I will check tomorrow but I think its about 2-3 inches with the headrest up pretty high and less than that when it was lower.

Well I talked to someone today... first I was told that was totally normal for the seat to stick that far. THEN I was told (AFTER I told her I was a tech, which was also included in my email) that I wasn't using it correctly and didn't have the straps tight enough and that's why he was flopping. When I told her that I am *quite* aware of how to correctly use a car seat, and that I know that this is NOT normal, I was told that it's out of warranty and they won't replace it, but if I send it back and give them $125 I can have a MA. No thanks, I can already get a MA for $125, not that I want another one, and I'm not interested.
I'll just keep this for a spare or sell it to someone for whom it will work. It's fine FF and a bit higher RF, just really bad now and for the next inch or so.

Have you striped it naked to see if there is anything that is forcing it forward? If you push the headrest backwards to where it should be, does it instantly bounce back?

One of mine moves progressively forward as I crank it up, but than goes backward as I crank it down. When I adjust the headrest, I move it way, way up and then back down to where I want it. Yours definitely looks like something is wrong, though.

Yep, I've stripped it. Mine is actually the opposite of yours, it gets more flush as I move it up.
