Carseats in the News

Hi - anyone else read Dear Abby? Has this already been posted?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ucda/20090914/lf_ucda/parentswagetugofwarovertoddlerscarseat
This letter was posted on Dear Abby's news feed on Monday.
I would love to jump on it and use it as a great opportunity to promote not only safety, but the organization itself. However, I do not believe emails from Canada can get through. As well, I still consider myself to be a "beginner", and feel that a more experienced technician might lend more weight to the explanation.

Is there anyone here on this site who is authorized to draft a letter on behalf of the organization, with the reasoning behind collision-replacement, and an invitation for readers to learn more about child restraints?

We had a thread about it in the Community Member Coffee Break Forum. :) I did already send a letter thanking her and encouraging parents to read the manual, follow manufacturer's guidelines, and see a tech. I'm not sure what "organization" you mean, but just to let you know, I have written. :)

Thanks! I'm glad someone is writing in, I hope that she posts a number of supportive letters in a future column.

By "organization" I meant the Carseat.org community - is that not what .org means?

It's a community for sure, or a forum-- I don't know that I'd call it an organization. :) .org can be used by just about anyone, I don't know Darren's reasoning for picking .org over .com when he started the forum. :)

Car-seat.org is likely a dot .org instead of a dot .com due to being a non-profit with volunteers. :)
