Does the Clek Oobr have to be SO expensive! I want one for each of my older kids but yeah....at about $1000 for all of them...not gonna happen in this lifetime. I am so sad.

Because Clek is using a magnesium alloy for the structural portions of the seat instead of molded plastic. I may be in the minority here, but I firmly believe that stronger seat construction makes a difference in more severe crashes. It's a "you get what you pay for" type of thing.

I'm not sure I agree that a stronger seat makes for a better outcome (I don't *disagree*; I just don't know), but I agree that in many ways we get what we pay for. I don't know if my daughter is actually safer in her Monterey than in her Turbobooster, but I can sure tell why one is $80 more than the other (and why the Clek seats are even more than that).

Well, lots of nifty boosters are on the horizon, there might be something that suits your budget and your kids better anyway :thumbsup:

I know that you get what you pay for, I'm just whining cuz I'm poor and can't afford it. I guess rent comes first though eh? No point in having nice car seats if you don't have a roof over your head or a car to drive.
