Why or why can't the True Fit rear-face to at least 40???

So the MyRide is growing on me, but I LOVE the way the True Fit looks and all the True Fit fans on here talking about it. But, I have a 29 lb 18-mo, so the True Fit would not be the best option for erf. (Big sis hit 35 lbs at about 26-28 months and 40 lbs at 3 yo) Just a vent... Those of you w/ those skinny kids are lucky when it comes to erf! I saw a couple of kids on here that are over 3 and weigh the same as my 18 mo!

Because it was never tested, or it was tested and failed miserably :(

I feel your pain. I have an 8 month old that weighs 19.5 pounds. I've been lucky with my own DD being tiny, but this huge baby worries me. But she already has a Radian to use in Mom's car, and she'll have a Radian in mine too when she needs it.

The TF can't rear-face beyond 35lbs because it has not been tested that way. With the current trend, perhaps we can look forward to the TF rear-facing beyond 35lbs in the future.

Oops, my title should have been "why oh why" as a vent. I understand why it doesn't have a 40 lb rating, I just wish it did! I'm venting...

I'm one of those with an over 3 year old who weighs the same as your little one. We  our True Fit, that's for sure! However, my DS is much chunkier, so I'm with you on wishing for a 40lb RF limit on the True Fit.

A 40lb RF TFP would be my dream seat!!! I am putting off getting DS a new convertible as long as possible in hopes that my dream will come true :).

I wish we could know which seats actually failed at 40 and that's why they are 35 versus the ones they just didn't test to 40 so they are 35, kwim? If the TrueFit just didn't test at 40, maybe they would consider trying it to 40? Please, oh please Learning Curve! Put it on the bench at 40! If they would come out at 40 lbs rfing, I'd sell the MR today to fund one! The Misty Morning one would go so nicely w/ my black car w/ gray interior...
