Stroller Help Needed!

What is a good stroller to use on kind of rough terrain? Or off streets & sidewalks?

I am taking the kids to a Renaissance Fair this weekend (and a few more these coming up months). DS1 LOVES ALL THINGS Knights so this will be for him. They are going to have a jousting competition along with other Knightly things so he will be in heaven.

All I have is a Maclaren Triumph. I have never used strollers so I am clueless.

Is the Triumph an okay one to use or should I pick up coming else? (I will need it for DD who will most likely get tired and for holding the Diaper Bag/Camera/etc ... DS2 will be in the Ergo). Being able to buying it at Babies R Us (or off Craigslist ) would be a plus.

TIA

ETA: Is something like this okay? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bab/1364618754.html

Out of those 3 strollers, I would get the Jeep one. The others look like they have fixed front wheels and that can be a PITA when you are trying to steer through crowds.

What you NEED is air tires, and a front wheel that swivels.

The Jeep looks like it will suit your need just fine :) Good luck!

If you plan on jogging in the future then that BOB would be perfect.

You are right about not taking your Triumph. Not only are the wheels plastic, but they are small, and not suitable for off road (aka: all-terrain) situations. It would be a nightmare to try and push.

ETA: This Quinny stroller would work as well http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bab/1361883543.html I'm not sure which model it is, but I'm guessing it's the Zapp considering the price they are asking. Although it doesn't have air tires, it pushes amazingly well off road, and grass.

Well the 4-wheeled ones are $119 (the pink) - $189 on albeebaby. I'm not sure if the 3-wheeled ones are usually more expensive, but that seems like a good deal! If you don't want it, or get and don't want it after, I may be interested.

I am confused, lol. The Zapp on Albee looks different than this. This has 3 wheels, those have 4.

I wish I didn't need it for Saturday or else I would just order off Albee.

I was going to buy that Jeep one you linked to but the seller is very rude

I hate rude CLers!

I'm not sure the difference in the wheeled versions. There was talk about the 2 on here in the past. Maybe you can search. Or Lovinwaves might chime in here later. I'm sure she know all about them! The other person was Tucker's mom (can't remember username!) in AZ - just realized I haven't seen her around here in a while.

ETA: here's a thread asking about them.

Awesome, thanks!

Ugh, if I want either (the other Jeep or Zapp) both are in Jack London Square in Oak. I do not want to drive there today.

Now to decide between the Jeep or Zapp.

It's a bummer that the one in Concord is being rude! That would be so much easier to get!

Yeah. I asked some questions, she won't answer them  and keeps giving one word responses to my emails

I could just suck it up ... but it doesn't have the Ipod hook up like the other :p

The 3-wheeled Zapp was only available in Europe and Canada (and same with the Buzz). Then Quinny came to the U.S. and got the 4-wheeled Zapp, something about the 3-wheel didn't meet U.S. standards I heard. Then, since Canada wasn't getting the Quinny's from Europe anymore and instead from the U.S., we now get stuck with the sucky 4 wheel Zapp too instead of the 3 wheeled one! (although you can still find new, older model year 3 wheels ones in Canada).

From the stroller boards, the consensus is the 3 wheeled one steers better, fits tighter places and is better overall than the 4 wheel Zapp.
