Britax Regent buckle positions

Just want to make sure I am doing this right as I find it odd.
The buckle positioner strap for the one furthest away from the crotch goes in the same hole as the harness adjuster? For some reason this just throws me?

Yeah I spazzed out the first time I realized that. Apparently it doesn't cause any issues.

You move the crotch strap at 50 lbs to the outer position.

Yeah that is REALLY weird, it just seems wrong.
Thank you for confirming that for me.
I think they should really print that on the plastic that it is number1 and number 2 and the weight limits for each.

Wait, do you HAVE to move it out at 50lbs? I thought that was only if they were sitting on the strap. DS is 63lbs at the moment and hasn't even come close to the closer hole.

The manual says this:

The buckle has two positions and should be adjusted to fit your child
WARNING! Do not use position two until child exceeds 50 pounds (22.7 kg).

Okay, after reading it it says to use the position closest to but not under so he is good. Doubtful he will need the outermost before he outgrows the seat lol.
